Avengers Endgame delivered one of the best films of 2019 and closed off the Infinity Saga as we know it perfectly. But if you think about it, there’s hardly anything wrong with it at all and featured everything a perfect movie should have. So, here is why we think it’s one of, if not the best movie of all time:
The screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely really out did themselves with this one and didn’t only produce an outstanding script for the movie which played out Stan Lee’s Infinity Saga perfectly but also made the film with the fans in mind. What I think everyone, including me, loved about this film, is that it finally brought together the entire MCU franchise for one final battle, including characters from Guardians of The Galaxy, Black Panther, Spiderman, Doctor Strange – and the list keeps on going. This was the moment all Marvel fans had been waiting for.
Some of these crossovers have got to be one of the best in cinema history for me as they were all characters, we grew up with over the years, so it was fantastic to see them all together one last time which truly captivated fans around the world. You only must go and watch some of the audience’s reactions to the film and their excitement says it all.
That’s not half of the reasons why the film came out fantastic though as the cinematography and visuals were out of this world. Quite literally in fact. Every scene, every fight sequence and every special effect was a cinematic masterpiece of its own and in my opinion are some of the best you will see in any movie or TV show. How could we not mention the nostalgia of the Avengers theme tune playing during the final battle between every hero in the MCU and Thanos’ army. It’s very rarely we talk about the film’s soundtracks on but with Avengers we can’t help it. Its one of those pieces of music where when it comes on you instantly know what it is.
Speaking of nostalgia, one thing I did love about the story of Endgame is that it took the fans a trip down memory lane with the whole-time travelling concept. In order to restore the universe, the Avengers needed to recover all infinity stones and with the original ones destroyed what no better place to retrieve a new set with their past timelines. Specifically taking us back to 2012 with the first Avenger movie where the Avengers faced Loki, Thor returned to Asgard when his mother was still alive and managed to retrieve his hammer as well and Captain America and Tony went back to Steve’s old military base back when he worked as Captain America for the army in Captain America: The First Avenger and met some familiar faces.
Personally though, even though the ending was emotional and was hard to say goodbye to Ironman and Captain America, I think it’s the ending it needed. It was a perfect send off for the Infinity Saga and for the MCU as we knew it. Plus, this way it opens up for a new era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also opened up other opportunities for spin off TV series such as WandaVision, Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Solider.
